Boiler
Loud Minority

Before you start jerkin' off to this page, we have a piece of sad news for ya. Both Boiler ad Loud Minority no longer exist. In the Rock 'n' Roll business, that can happen, much to our chagrin. Some of the boys from the Boiler gang started a bluesy-Rock 'n' Roll project called Cargo City, and, if you live in Stuttgart, you might occasionally have the opportunity to check 'em out. As far as Loud Minority goes, go figure. We know where they live, that's about it.

At any rate, this fine record is still available. . .

Somewhat undiscovered, Stuttgart, Germany has a very cool musical community. There is very little mean-spirited competetion between bands, and at the same time, there's no real need to bang on the podium about how ''we all have to get together as a musical community and hold hands and love each other and be one with the universe''. (Leave that shit to neo-Hippie phony-baloney New Age crypto-fascist politically-correct ass-kissers!)

Two bands from this scene came together on one record to show the world what they can do. Boiler is well known in Germany. Through their other releases ''You'll Never Be Upfront'' (CD, Rotor/SPV) and ''Adventures in Corporate Rock'' (CD, Subzero Records/Zyx), this band has gained a name for being one of the hardest and loudest German bands. In fact, try to find another band that can play so loud and hard and still be melodic without being cheesy. Live, Boiler is deafening. None of this is lost on vinyl. But don't forget the other side, for Christ's sake! Another band from the Stuttgart area, Loud Minority, also offers an example of the way it should be done. Loud Minority is truely unique because they don't try to sound like other bands. But to give you some idea of what they sound like (before you listen), Loud Minority exists somewhere between the latter days of Hüsker Dü and Sonic Youth. This is, of course, the opinion of Middle Class Pig. Make up your own mind. Enjoy Loud Minority (''100 mph'') - and Boiler (''Concorde'') - and, if you like vinyl, check out the Split-7-inch with both these songs (MPC007). Vinyl so clear you could use it as a contact lens.

The Middle Class Pig Online Catelog is coming soon. In the mean time, you can order this album, or any other Middle Class Pig release from sales@middleclasspig.com.
