COCKNOOSE

For over 10 years now, Cocknoose have been playing real deal, hate you, punch you in the face (literally) Punk Rock. This ain't no Green day or Offspring fashion show, and this ain't no British mohawk "hate the queen" shit either. This is punk rock from Lawrence, Kansas, where what they know is how to drink and how to hate you--and Cocknoose do both really well.
From the first two seven inches "Greatest Band of the 21st century" and "Pain from the Prairie", they struck fear in the hearts of local fans and critics alike. With the release of their first full length "Badmen, Butchers and Bleeders" in 1994, they pretty much alienated themselves from any sort of "scene" and from any sort of "mainstream" recognition. Too much violence, too much booze, too many fights and too much hate fueled Cocknoose and made even the infamous Dwarves say in an interview with "Hit List" magazine that the only time they were ever scared playing a show as when they played with Cocknoose. What's that tell you? Even the big bad Dwarves are scared of Cocknoose!
Punk Rock was not ready for a band like Cocknoose, and I'm not sure if it ever will be. The later '90s saw another 7" single "All Jacked Up" and early 2000 saw a full length called "White Trash Messiahs" on Steel Cage Records. Yet Cocknoose still never got the recognition it deserved as one of the last true American Punk Rock bands. Until now.....
In 2002 TKO records is re-releasing "Badmen, Butchers and Bleeders" with additional tracks, and Germany's Middle Class Pig Records is re-releasing "White Trash Messiahs" ("as we speak"-Ed.). This will expose many so called punk rock fans to the fury of Cocknoose for the first time. Will they get it? Or will they run and hide like they did 10+ years ago? Is punk rock finally ready for Cocknose?
