Schwarz

Recorded with a Revox 2-Track and two super sensitive microphones, Schwarz is instrumental Psychedelia at its best. The listener will walk into this noisy wall of sound feeling like Syd Barrett and will leave feeling like Booker T or Link Wray. Schwarz consists of four superb musicians from Tübingen and includes a Gibson Les Paul and a Hammond organ from 1951. Schwarz embraces no one particular style-there's a touch of blues and a little bit o' soul. Some critics have compared it to a drug-induced feedback nightmare, others ask if the pot in Germany is laced with formaldehyde, while others compare Schwarz to Prog Rock (we don't agree with this one!) or to the old Pink Floyd. Listen and decide for yourself. Schwarz is an experiment in sound(s). Their goal is to bring the experience of live performance - ''just as it happened in time and space" - to the ears and mind of the post-modern stereo freak. The recording is a ''perfect sound reproduction of the event". Available on the 'Hefners/Schwarz Split-10" (MCP 001-white vinyl). The track selected is titled ''Panamanic Sunset and Armenian Moon".

After organist André Schnisa passed away in March 1999, the group disbanded. The existence, the purpose and the essence of this label is dedicated to him, his music and his "subversive" ideas. We miss him.
